Yesterday, a shooting occurred at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas killing three and critically injuring a fourth.
The shooter was a professor for East Carolina University who had recently applied to teach at the University of Nevada, but was rejected.
The suspect was identified as Anthony Polito who was shot and killed in a police standoff.
This is the largest shooting in the city since the 2017 shooting that killed 60 people at a music festival.
UNLV professor Kevaney Martin spoke on the experience by saying, "It was terrifying. I can’t even begin to explain. I was trying to hold it together for my students, and trying not to cry, but the emotions are something I never want to experience again."
Classes have been canceled through Friday due to this and it is unclear when they will start again.
