Hundreds of OpenAI staff have threatened to quit unless the entire board resigns.
OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT has more than 500 out of 700 employees who signed a letter stating that they will leave if no change is made.
This comes after the the ex-CEO Sam Altman was terminated from the company, and cofounder Greg Brockman was removed from his role as the companies president. The letter stated, "The process through which you terminated Sam Altmand and removed Greg Brockman from the board has jeopardized all of this work and undermined our mission and company."
They claim in the letter that the board's actions against these 2 ex-board members shows they're, "incapable of overseeing OpenAI."
Altman is planning to open a new research department for Microsoft, which is where the 505 people who signed this letter say they will go to if action is not taken and the board members do not resign.
The letter claims that Microsoft said there will be positions for all OpenAI employees who decide to join their team.
Finally, the letter states that once the board resigns, they must reinstate Altman and Brockmans' previous positions, and 2 new independent directors.
