Israel-Hamas Updates

By Ryan Gildersleeve

We’ve reached day 6 of the conflicts between Israel and Palestine, and unfortunately not much appears to be budging on either side coming into today.

Israel and Palestine have been butting heads for a very long time, though 6 days ago everything escalated as Hamas, a Palestinian militia, underwent their first of many attacks on Israel, as they attacked multiple key points along the Gaza strip.

Hamas made the decision to not only use explosive charges and advanced weaponry to invade Israel, but to also take hundreds of people captive, including Israeli residents, Americans, and far more.

The Humanitarian side of the clash has been almost nonexistent. There were no ideas of peace when Hamas marched across the Israeli border, and in turn Israel has effectively pulled the plug on Gaza’s livelihood.

Israel Katz, the energy minister of Israel, stated, “No electrical switch will be turned on, no water hydrant will be opened and no fuel truck will enter until the abductees are free.”

In the time since the initial attack, the United States have been quick to condemn the actions of Hamas and pledge their allegiance to Israel as they fight to rebuild and protect their country.

As updates continue to roll in, we’ll make sure to keep you updated
