Shows Of Note: Tove Lo

January 26, 2017

Born Ebba Tove Elsa Nilsson, Tove Lo is a Swedish born singer and songwriter. She made her big break with her 2014 album Queen Of The Clouds that featured the single "Habits (Stay High)" which peaked at number three on the Billboard charts. She co-wrote Ellie Goulding's "Love Me Like You Do" which earned Tove Lo her first Grammy Nomination. She has also collaborated with Coldplay, Flume, Alesso, Nick Jonas, Adam Lambert, Years & Years, Seven Lions, Broods, Lucas Nord, Urban Cone, and Wiz Khalifa.

Tove Lo has been called Sweden's darkest pop export by Rolling Stone, as her songs explore the gritty and grungy side of pop. Her music can be described as ethereal synth pop. Her soprano voice is haunting and gorgeous, and the production on her songs is clean and amazing as a listening experience. She writes honestly and unapologetically, and her voice conveys the emotions that she writes with.

Her most recent album, Lady Wood, features the single "Cool Girl" which is quickly climbing the Billboard charts. She is currently on a North American Solo tour, kicking off in Seattle, WA on February 6th. For a chance to win tickets to the show, listen to "Vibes" with Ferg Thursday January 26th at 1pm.
