NBC says, ten American sailors detained by Iran were released after a night in the Islamic republic’s custody — a fast outcome following a frenzy of diplomacy but overall very little fuss.

The whole episode bore similarities to an incident in 2007, albeit with a very different outcome.

Fifteen British servicemen were seized by Iranian forces in March of that year. They were held for 13 days — and released after a diplomatic crisis erupted.

The city of angels, LA, has its football again. After an extended hiatus the Rams have returned to LA. St. Louis fans vented their sadness and anger, mixed with appreciation for the franchise that won a Super Bowl in 2000.

San Diego will have the option to move the Chargers by the end of the 2017 season. If they do not opt-in than the Oakland Raiders have a chance to move in.

NBC also reports, an avalanche struck a group of high-school students skiing in the French Alps on Wednesday, police said, killing at least two people and seriously injuring five others.

The National Gendarmerie said a massive rescue operation was launched after ten students and their professor were swept up by the avalanche at the Deux Alpes ski resort near Grenoble shortly before 4 p.m. local time.

According to CNN Money tonight may be the pinnacle of the Powerball hysteria. (Unless, of course, no one wins.) The next drawing is at 10:59 pm ET on Wednesday, and there will probably be at least one winner for the record-shattering $1.5 billion jackpot that’s up for grabs.

The last drawing on January 9 marked the 19th without a grand prize winner.

Disclaimer: The winner won’t take home the full $1.5 billion. First, there will be a nine-digit tax bill. And odds are there will be more than one winning ticket. In that case, the prize money is split evenly among them.
