This past weekend, on Friday night, a mass shooting occurred in Cincinnati leaving five injured and one dead.
The shooting happened as a drive by while the victims were somewhat near an intersection. Those who were shot are four boys aged 11, 12, 13, and 15, a 15 year old girl, and a 53 year old woman.
The one who died was the 11 year old boy. Everyone else except one victim has been released from the hospital.
Cincinnati Mayor, Aftab Pureval, commented on this incident by saying, "Twenty-two rounds were fired. Twenty-two rounds in a moment — into a crowd of kids. No time to respond. No time to react."
So far, officials have not released any information on the suspect.
As of Sunday, there have been 596 mass shooting so far in 2023 throughout the U.S. This includes the killing of 1,200 children aged 12 to 17, and 3,400 injured in gun violence.
