Ellensburg High School Boys Golf competed in their fourth league match against Selah High School and Toppenish High School last Tuesday, April 24, at The Elks Golf and Country Club in Selah.
Selah High School won the event on their home course, scoring 346 strokes. In second was Ellensburg High School with 375 strokes, and Toppenish High School finished in third with 467 strokes.
For Ellensburg High School, Tate Morris led the team with 85 strokes. Tyson Hatfield was three strokes behind with 88 to be the second lowest score for Ellensburg on the day. Nate Kasselis-Smith finished the day with 95 strokes, and Blake Willard finished with 107 strokes. At the last two varsity spots, Brock Carlson shot a 120, and Nick Florence shot a 132.
Brock Carlson's 120 on the day was a personal best.
The golf course was in excellent condition, and it was a sunny, warm and windless day.
Ellensburg High School Boys Golf has their final league match of the season on Monday, April 30, against East Valley High School and Quincy High School.
The Suncadia Invite, hosted by Ellensburg High School, is on Tuesday, May 1. The invite will feature golfers from 15 schools from across Washington State to finish the regular season.
The postseason begins on May 14 with the District 5/6 2A Boys Golf Championships at the Lakeview Golf and Country Club.
Qualifying golfers from the District Championships move onto the WIAA 2A Boys Golf Championships at the Columbia Point Golf Course.
