The Kittitas boy’s baseball team struggled last night in their game against Selah’s JV baseball team. The Coyotes allowed 13 runs to cross the plate and were forced to stop the game in the fifth inning via the mercy rule.
It was all Vikings from the very start. Selah jumped out to an early lead by scoring three runs in the first two innings. Then in the third inning, the hit parade exploded as the Vikings pushed 10 runners across the plate.
Throughout the last two innings, Selah maintained their sizable lead to win the game via the 10-run mercy rule in the fifth.
The Coyotes had multiple chances to get runs on the board. In the second inning two runners reached base via errors in the field. Selah quickly righted the ship without surrendering a single run.
Next up for Kittitas will be their doubleheader against Okanogan Friday.
