24-year-old, Amy Caroline Brown from Edmonds, Wash. pleaded guilty to attempting to murder a man she met through Craigslist.
She had plans on becoming a serial killer and was sentenced to 18 years in prison on Tuesday.
The victim, 29, posted a personal ad on Craigslist, "Good Evening! Let's go zombie hunting!"
Brown suggested they meet up after the ad grabbed her attention.
Brown lured the victim into a Lynnwood area motel room on January 29 where she stabbed him in the lung with a pocket knife. The victim was able to fight Brown off of him and escape the scene.
Brown told a Lynnwood police sergeant that she's a psychopath and has been full of homicidal thoughts since middle school.
She said she planned on ripping her date's heart out and eating it.
Brown was caught running across the motel parking lot and gave a full confession. She had no previous issues with the law but has a background of behavioral health issues. Brown has been diagnosed with chronic depression and post-traumatic stress disorder with psychotic features.
According to the Herald Net in Everett, Brown said, "I decided I wanted to become a serial killer and claim my first victim. It didn't work."
In the weeks before the stabbing, Brown became fascinated with the show "Hannibal." The show is about a cannibalistic serial killer and Brown spent hours watching it before the stabbing.
Upon investigating Brown's house, police found a life-sized coffin in her bedroom and a journal with plans to become a serial killer.
A note was found on Brown which said, "If you are wondering what I do with the heart, I eat it. I will strike again."
