In the past year a term reinforced by President Trumpthe has been plastered across the media, "Fake News" .
A specific news organization has experienced tremendous speculation regarding the spread of fake news. This media outlet is none other than CNN. Recent videos have leaked of CNN officials announcing the spread of fake news by Project Veritas.
Project Veritas is an organization that seeks to expose people and companies for corruption. They go into schools and organizations, undercover, with recording devices.
Head Producer of Project Veritas', James O’Keefe, says, in the video exposing CNN, “Our goal is to expose the real motivations behind the decision-making process of our dominant media corporations.”
Project Veritas’ most recent leaks involve people like John Bonifield, CNN Supervising Producer, saying that Trump’s connection to Russia is a “witch hunt” and it’s all for “ratings."
News outlets from across the United States jumped on the story about the media giant, for producing fake news.
The outrage has quickly diminished as more news flooded in. Project Veritas continues to post about the leaks, with the most recent post on September 20.
Bonifield is also seen, on camera, quoting CNN’s CEO, Jeff Zucker, “just to give you some context, President Trump pulled out of the climate accords and for a day and a half we covered the climate accords. And the CEO of CNN said in our internal meeting, he said good job everybody covering the climate accords, but we’re done with that, let’s get back to Russia."
Van Jones of CNN was caught on tape calling “the Russia thing” a “big nothing burger."
A CNN associate producer, Jimmy Carr, was caught on tape as well saying it’s “decisions made by people higher than me and if they go wow, your ratings are soaring right now."
Carr also said, “90% of us are on board with just the fact that he’s (Trump) crazy."
Jeff Zucker refused to comment when approached by Project Veritas.
