Ed Sheeran recently released his new album, Divide. I don't know about you guys, but I'm head over heels for it. Not only did he turn up the beat but he gave his fans the music he always promises.
I think Ed is someone anyone can appreciate. I mean the man is incredibly talented! He writes his songs, plays the instruments, sings like a God... he's just amazing.
Music aside, he is an all around cool guy. I've never experienced an artist so relatable. He drinks a lot of beer, posts pictures of his cats, cracks dorky jokes and isn't some model from another planet. He doesn't pretend to be something he's not just to please the world. It's funny because by being himself, people like him MORE.
Feeling like he lost himself in the online world, Ed left his social media presence to focus on himself and what was important. How many famous people do that? He's just a genuine guy that doesn't want to get caught up in a fake world.
It really shows in his new album he was able to experience more and try different sounds from different cultures. There are songs like "Galway Girl" and "Nancy Mulligan,"that sound very Irish. Then there's "Barcelona" that sounds Latin and up beat. He's a well rounded artist that produces songs people from all over the world can appreciate.
I don't normally go out of my way to praise an artist. I'll sit here and say "oh yeah, they have good music but they suck as a person." Whereas, with Ed, I recognize he has great music and he's an awesome person.
I think everyone should look up to Ed because he is someone that is genuinely passionate about music and just wants to share it with the world. He respects friends, family and people and strives to always be himself.
