Did you know Yakima has a Comic Con? Every October, Central City Comic Con takes place at the Yakima Convention Center. Last year was a huge success, and this year C4 (as fans call it) expanded the event by adding celebrity panels, more gaming events, as well as a Dia De Los Muertos themed dance for the 21+ crowd at the nearby Red Lion Hotel.
This year's con featured celebs such as Deep Roy, who many people will remember from films such as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Star Trek, and The NeverEnding Story. Roy even joined con attendees by participating in the annual Comic Con Pub Crawl.
Legendary screen queen actress Dee Wallace, who most people remember as the mom from the hit sci-fi classic E.T. The Extraterrestrial, as well as the Stephen King classic Cujo, was also one of the special celebrity guests on hand for this year's con.
Other events for this year's con also included the annual pub crawl, a cosplay costume contest, board game events, as well as many comic book artists from all over the nation setting up shop to meet with fellow fans.
Though Mother Nature played part in many attendees not being able to make it to C4, that didn't stop thousands of cosplayers and pop culture geeks alike from attending this year's festivities.
