(FOX) The Obama Administration wants every student to use the bathroom and locker room that matches their chosen gender identity. According to FOX News, a letter was sent to every public school district in America this morning, signed by the Justice Department and Department of Education. While the letter does not enforce a law, it threatens lawsuits and loss of federal aid to schools refusing to comply. This clarifies the full expectations of Title IX for educators nationwide. You can read the letter at www.justice.gov under their Justice News page.
(FOX) Immigration officials are planning a large round of deportation raids. Primarily targeting illegal Central American families, immigration offices will make an arrest surge against mothers and children who have already been told to leave the country. FOX News and Reuters report the raids are expected to occur later month. As of 2014, the number of immigrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border in families was over 30,000. Democratic candidates Clinton and Sanders both expressed opposition to the raids, while Republican officials have not yet issued statements.
(NBC) Sadiq Khan, son of a Pakistani immigrant, is the new mayor of London, and he has invited presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump to the city for an education on Islam and its compatibility with the Western world. Trump suggested a temporary ban on Muslims entering the U.S. in December after the San Bernardino shooting. But earlier this week, Trump passed off the idea as being “only a suggestion” and that he was happy about Khan’s election. Khan is now Europe’s highest-ranking Muslim politician. He has thanked American leaders for the support and plans to visit the U.S. before November.
(CNN) Terror continues in Iraq as three ISIS militants gunned down a quiet coffee shop in the central city this morning, CNN reports. After killing 13, they blew themselves up at a security checkpoint in midst of heavy gunfire with Iraqi police. This atrocity follows Wednesday’s attacks in Baghdad’s Shiite neighborhoods that killed over 90 people and Thursday’s suicide bombs that killed three police officers. As the jihadist group loses its grip on the territory, they continue to triumph in conducting mass terrorist attacks against soft targets, according to Political Analyst Kirk Sowell.
