“I love how it’s a big family and love getting to learn new things… and all the opportunities it provides me.”
Rachel Greve, a sophomore at Central Washington university, came to 88.1 The ‘Burg after hearing many good things about it from some of her close friends in the sports department at The ‘Burg. Although this is her first year at the radio station, it didn’t take long for Greve to fall in love with what the radio station had to offer her.
“The radio station is important to me because it’s showing me what the real-world is going to be like and it’s helping me pursue my dreams of becoming a sports reporter.”
Not only has she had real-world radio experience as a producer for Central basketball and football games, but also is also on Sports Central’s shows, “Monday Night (Drive) Main Event” Mondays and “End of the Bench” Fridays 4-6pm and also host her own music show, “Girls Night Out” on Saturdays from 9-10pm. Greve has found The ‘Burg to not only be a comforting place to talk about her passion for sports and music, but to grow in her own way and better prepare herself for a future career in sports journalism as a sports reporter.
Because of people like Rachel and our listeners, we keep getting to do what we love here at 88.1 The ‘Burg and keep thinking of bigger and better ways to do radio. Thank you to YOU listeners and to Rachel for continually making The ‘Burg a family atmosphere!
