At least 100 people were killed and another 200 injured when a spark from an unauthorized firework display ignited a separate batch of fireworks and caused the fire.

Most of the injuries and deaths occurred when one of the buildings collapsed.

SWEENEY TODD PERFORMANCE GONE WRONG

(Guardian) Tragedy struck St. Kentigern College in Australia on Wednesday when a production of Sweenet Todd made a crossroads with grotesque reality.

The production, which centers on a murderous barber and features multiple throat-cutting scenes, was affected by the lead actor accidentally cutting the throats of two boys during the opening night performance. Audience members claim not to have realized the incident until the two were rushed to the emergency room following the show.

Headmaster Steve Cole insisted that the razors had been checked “many, many times” and were blunted with cellophane and duct tape before the performance. The two boys are currently recovering in a nearby hospital.

FORMER NFL PLAYER MURDERED

(ABC) Will Smith, a former Super Bowl champion for the New Orleans Saints and a college champion with the Ohio State Buckeyes, was shot in an act of road rage.

After his vehicle was rear-ended, Smith and the instigating driver, Cardell Hayes, exchanged words before Hayes brandished a firearm and shot Smith multiple times, striking him in the back. Smith’s wife, who was in the passenger seat, was shot as well. She was taken to the hospital where she received treatment for leg injuries.

According to Hayes’ attorney, Hayes was chasing a driver who had performed a hit-and-run when he rear-ended Smith’s SUV.

Hayes is being held on a $1 million dollar bond.
