(Daily Record) There is an automated message circling phones in the Kittitas Valley stating, “It is very important you contact us immediately. There is a lawsuit against you. The IRS is filing a lawsuit against you.” The resident who reported this call to the police said that she spoke with a heavily-accented woman who used intimidation tactics and would not give her name. KCWU News Central urges you to not give any information to the caller and to be aware of this scam intimidating the IRS. The number is reported to have called the resident is (202)-790-4198, which is from the area code of Washington D.C.
(FOX) In a high school in Glendale, Arizona, two 15-year old girls were shot and found dead at the scene with a gun next to one of the girls. The motive for the shooting is still unclear, but this is not an active shooter situation. No other students are in jeopardy. The school remains in lock-down so that students can be united with their parents in an orderly fashion. Independence High School has about 2,000 students and is 10 miles north of Phoenix.
(NBC) Valentine’s Day weekend might be frozen on the East coast. Temperatures are expected to be in the negatives. Boston is looking at a balmy -2 degrees, compared to -9 degrees in the neighboring city of Hartford. Other cities such as Albany and Worcester are expected to be in the double-digit negatives. Wind chills are expected to bring the temperature down to -20 to -40 degrees across the region.
