(Breitbart) The University of Oklahoma’s Gender & Equality Center is using popular songs to bring awareness to Stalking Awareness Month. Songs such as Adele’s “Hello” and Maroon 5’s “Animal” contain lyrical messages that the Gender & Equality Center says “normalize sexual harassment.” According to the organization’s Facebook, “the mission of the OU Gender + Equality Center is to foster social justice by advocating for the rights of women and LGBTQ students, empowering those without a voice, and challenging inequality.”
(FOX) North Korea is expected to complete their long-range missile fueling and be ready to launch as soon as Monday. The US Navy has positioned an anti-missile defense system on Japan to destroy the missile if the military feels that the missile is a threat to our border. The Pentagon anticipates North Korea will not launch a missile with a nuclear warhead; instead, the military believes this launch will be similar to a 2012 launching that put a satellite in space.
(NBC) The world lost three professional icons yesterday, BMX legend Dave Mirra was found in his truck in Greenville, North Carolina dead of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. Aged 41, Mirra held the records for the most X Games medals (24) until 2013.
Maurice White, founder of the nine-piece R&B group Earth, Wind, and Fire, died at the age of 74. Distinctively known for their jazz roots and talented horn section, the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
The voice of Daffy Duck and Bugs Bunny, Joe Alaskey, died at the age of 63 from cancer. He was also known for playing Grandpa Lou Pickles in the Nickelodeon show ‘Rugrats.’ Alaskey took over the role of those characters after Mel Blanc’s passing in 1989.
