Oh hey. I’m Colleen and I have been working at the ‘Burg since the beginning of my sophomore year. I am now a senior and plan on graduating in the spring with a degree in Communication Studies. I am the Music Coordinator, which is exactly how it sounds. My life at work (and usually at home) revolves around the music. I review almost all of the music coming into the ‘Burg and make sure that we sound absolutely stellar. If you’re a band or artist submitting music, I’m your girl. In my “free time” (which only sometimes exists as a student) I like to play roller derby, listen to music (duh), watch funny Youtube videos, dance to Gangnam style, play video games, hang out with my friends, and nap (yeah right).

Hello! My name is Cody Spencer and I am a senior majoring in Screenwriting with a double-minor in Advertising and Critical Studies of Film. I love my fields of study, but my college experience wouldn’t be the same without 88.1 the ‘Burg, the heart of creativity on campus. The beats we play on the airwaves provide you with an infinite pulse of entertainment, information, and opportunities you will not find at any other school. As Promotions Coordinator, I am committed to bringing you the best of the “other” side of this awesome resource. You are bound to find the ‘Burg at any important events related to student life on campus; these include sports games, holiday functions, dances, orientations, community events (such as Bite of the ‘Burg and Fred Meyer Night), concerts, and even hot chocolate giveaways! The process of organizing and performing these events is only half of what I love about my job – the other half is seeing the smiles on your faces every time you interact with the ‘Burg, so if you happen to see me on campus or anywhere else, please say “hello”! Hello everyone, I am Chris Pearce (A.K.A. ‘KP’) and I am the Producer here at ‘The Burg’. I’m a first year student at CWU with an undeclared major but I’m hoping my experience working at the station will help me figure that out soon. Music has been the most important part of my life as long as I can remember so I feel very fortunate to have this position. I am an electronic music producer and DJ in my free time so my job duties here are very enjoyable. I have many other passions including: freestyle BMX, marine reef aquariums, hiking, camping, concerts, dancing and jumping off cliffs! Hello, everybody! I’m a junior video production major here at Central and I hail from the grand city of Tacoma, WA. My job at 88.1 The ‘Burg is the perfect position for me because it is the combination of two things I truly care about: music and current events. It is my job to both inform you of current affairs on-campus and in the greater community as well as to establish connections with the student, campus and local populations. Training and Development Coordinator

This will be my 2nd year as the Training and Development Coordinator here at the station. Maybe it’s crazy to say, but I love my job. The people I work with are phenomenally cool and I’m actually good at what I do (imagine that). As a psychology major, it’s interesting to work at a radio station because you’d never expect it. However, I see ways to apply the ideas I learn in the major even to this job. Outside of the radio I love spending time with my cats, hanging out with friends, listening to sweet tunes, and traveling.

My name is Rose, i am a senior at CWU majoring in Communication Studies. I have been a trainer here at the Burg for about a year and a half now, and i have also been a volunteer DJ at the station for four years. The best part of my job is truly the teaching i get to do. I love training the new volunteers and watching them succeed in board operation, personality development and the great art of multi-tasking. I started out in high school on a video production team making a weekly T.V. show called “DABZ”. I grew up in a very small town on the west side of the mountains and got involved in music at a very young age. By age 16 I was touring around Washington with my punk rock band. Now I am a sophomore here at CWU and I’ve mixed my video production experience with my love of music to become a member of the KCWU staff. I will be training this year as well as hosting Chuck Taylor’s Chill Sesh.
