Shows of Note – EDM in the 3D

The Morgan Page Presents tour is be the biggest tour the two-time Emmy nominee Morgan Page has ever headlined. With tour stops throughout the United States as well as overseas in countries such as Australia and India, Morgan Page is an example of the power and success that comes with being a seasoned DJ with a large number of devoted fans.

Morgan Page

It’s hard to believe that Morgan Page comes from a rural background, having grown up in a log cabin in Vermont. Obsessed with EDM from an early age, Page started producing at the age of 14. Page’s most recent full length album, In the Air which dropped April 3, 2012 was enormously successful and the DJ also had a spot on the Paradiso bill last June.

A review of the In the Air album by said this:

“- on In The Air he sticks to the moving progressive house he knows best. His continued growth and considerable talents remind us of another California dweller and Dancing Astronaut favorite, Kaskade. We predict that In The Air will bring Page the same kind of success that Kaskade saw with Dynasty. It’s an easy comparison to make: both producers excel in making music that truly means something.”

The Morgan Page Presents Tour is a 3D tour and pushes the EDM production limits by being the first DJ tour with full high resolution 3D visuals. Smaller venues aren’t always compatible with the light show but even without the ability to be truly 3D, Page always tries to ensure fans experience something new with each of his live performances.

The ‘Burg will be giving away four pairs of tickets to various Morgan Page show locations. The giveaways start tonight (11/01) between 8 and 10 so be sure to tune-in for a chance to see Morgan Page perform live. The Morgan Page Presents tour will be in Seattle at Showbox SoDo on November 15 and the Knitting Factory in Spokane on November 16.

Shows of Note – Fresh Beats

Gathering influence from American funk, jazz, soul and blues, Gramatik has used his varied tastes in music to create the sort of down-tempo instrumental hip hop you can’t help but nod your head to.

Signed to the Pretty Lights Music label, most of Gramatik’s music is available for free following his philosophy of “freeing music by making music free.”

A quick glance over Gramatik’s online presence will make it pretty clear that Gramatik is a guy who just wants to have fun. While he makes a lot of good music, Gramatik admits most of the time he just wants to smoke weed and is a self-proclaimed comedian.

Gramatik’s full length album Beatz & Pieces, Vol. 1 wasn’t released on iTunes until April 9, 2012 but was available through other means in 2011. With an average 5-star rating on iTunes the album is being well received by Hip Hop and EDM fans alike. Whether you want to sit down and listen or just have the album playing in the background Beatz and Pieces Vol. 1 fits your needs.

We will be giving away two pairs of tickets to Gramatik’s Seattle show at Showbox at the Market on November 15. Gramatik will also be performing in the Pacific Northwest November 14 at Roseland Theatre in Portland and at the Knitting Factory in Spokane on November 17. Listen tonight (11/01) between 6 and 8 p.m. and again between 10 and midnight for a chance to win!
